2016 trip - Romania

Whilst delivering a car to Dorin in Cluj Napoca during 2016, we took the oppertunity to deliver 240 kg of good quality, used clothes to Romania, for onwards delivery to Moldova.

Our plan had originally been to take the clothes to Moldova, but restrictions at the border presented difficulties.

This was a dual purpose trip, so the costs were split between ouselves and Dorin, who had requested a replacement car.

The clothes were first taken to Romania, and then stored there for a few months.

When dividing the costs, we tried to get a good balance of priorities between sensible expenditure for the charity for delivering that particular weight of clothes, and a sensible cost to Dorin, bearing in mind the extent to which he has helped our charity in the past.

During a more recent trip to Romania, Richard took the food and clothes from where they had been stored near Cluj Napoca, Romania, to Iași, Romania. There, he met a small group of charity workers from Bălți, Moldova, and handed over the goods to them there.

We paid £629.67 to deliver the clothes and food to Cluj Napoca, Romania.
