27th - 28th July
Saturday 27th July, Sunday 28th July
After I met up with local charity workers Igor and Tanya Nichisov, on the Saturday, they introduced us to various poor people in the area, and local mayors who were aware of the needs of people in their communities. We gave food we'd bought to the poor people. A cash donation was also given. On the Sunday, we also bought food, but on that day it was collected from a central point by more poor people. We then returned to the food shop, and bought more food, which we took to a local psychiatric hospital. I was given a limited tour of that building, and saw a room with 11 beds crammed in to it.
Currencies
Conversions from the Moldovian Lei (MOL lei) were made during June 2017. The conversions of the subtotals were done on a different date to the conversion of the total. The total figure is the total paid by the charity.

I said goodbye to Igor and Tanya, and drove back to Cluj Napoca, Romania.
Many thanks are due to Liz Lynch, for working tirelessly at the shop in Parkhead, to raise the funds spent during this trip, and all the customers at the shop, who have bought goods from the shop, or donated items to the shop. I know that all those involved will want to be reassured that the money we raise is spent wisely, only on those in genuine need. I believe that continuing to make trips like this one is the best way we can hope to provide the assurances our supporters rightly expect.. My thanks also go to Igor and Tanya in Moldova.
